Wrapping Up the Build Season With Week 6

With the build season coming to an end, the whole team is working extremely hard to tie up loose ends. This week, the build members are putting electronics on the robot, and we have set up our gym to practice driving. The younger members are getting a chance to drive the robot and get the experience for next year.

The business team is finalizing the business plan and got all our sponsors organized.

The virtual presence is working on the website, taking pictures, and posting on social media.

The spirit team is making orders for merchandise to give out at competitions- be sure to get some at the Finger Lakes Regional and SBPLI #2 Regionals!

This is our weekly catch up!!!!!!

Week 5 is zooming by!

Week 5 has arrived and like any other week, we are powered by persistence. We were talking to the freshman on the team to see what they were up to! Freshman Declan Crowley said, “Joe (senior build team member) is teaching me how to use autocad so when he leaves we will be able to takeover and help.” #passingthetorch

On our website, you can go to the team members section to see our new members and returning members along with updated photos and department sections.

This is an update from the build team on what is on the agenda for this week: “[We’re] working on our climb mechanism as well as finalizing the rest of our components, everything's coming together as planned”.

Advancing Onto Week 4...

With week 4 upon us, we have made many advancements. This is an update from the build team about what they are working on this week, “We are working on more shooter prototypes, nearing in on the end result. We got our hopper and intake system working very clearly”.

One of our mentors who helps out in the buildroom, Mr. Tiu, is super excited for this season. “We are trying to leave nothing to chance,” he said. We asked one of our head mentors, Mr. Gammon, what his goals were for this year for Team Rice. He said, “For everyone to have fun and learn- plain and simple”.

Please continue to check out our updates on our website (www.rice870.com) and instagram (@team870)! Tune in next week for week 5 :)
